Hello, my name is Becky Mills.
Hello my name is Becky Mills and I started Mid City Massage Therapy because I wanted to create a patient experience unlike any other. My goal is to provide a safe, interactive healing experience for my clients. Whether you need relief from headaches, back pain, muscle pain, migraines, recovering from an injury, or just experiencing pain I can help. I started Mid City Massage Therapy because I didn’t want to do cookie cutter massage routines all day at a spa or high frequency massage chain. This is not a day spa, and if you are looking for a “Fluff” massage this probably isn’t your place as my training is aimed to eliminate pain. Every BODY is different, and I treat each person the way that they deserve to be treated and come up with an individualized treatment plan. There is no pressure sales pitch, no subscriptions or dues, and no memberships. If you want to continue to feel better with my approach, I leave it up to my client to decide after we discuss my suggestions. It’s your money and I respect it as if it were my own.
I attended University of Nebraska at Kearney, where I got my Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science and a minor in Athletic Training. I was in the AT program all four years where I treated many different injuries and was responsible for various teams as well as the rehabilitation from injury to return to play for the other athletes as well. After graduation, I worked for a few more years assisting the Head Athletic Trainer at Bennington High School, where I covered various events.
I worked at Excel Physical Therapy for a year as a technician where I assisted with the rehabilitation of injuries and post surgery patients. For the last 5 years I have worked with Dr. Leslie Churchill at Mid City Chiropractic because I wanted to help people feel better and keep doing what they enjoy doing in their daily activities. I decided to get my associates degree in Therapeutic Massage from Omaha School of Massage and Healthcare where I graduated with honors.
Most people experience pain daily. An estimate 4.5 million Americans visit the emergency room or doctor’s office because of an adverse reaction to medication, and an additional 2 million individuals already hospitalized experience an adverse drug response. This statistic resonates with many people, including me. There is a growing movement of people moving away from medications and invasive procedures to relieve pain and restore function. Complimentary/Alternative medicine (CAM) treatments are increasing in popularity. In fact, in the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics, many athletes were seen with cupping marks and competed with no fear of failing a drug test! I love educating patients about self care and massage benefits everyone, from infants to elderly, providing all types of increased health benefits. Just to mention a few benefits of massage: relieves stress, reduces anxiety, reduces muscle tension, improves balance, decreases migraine frequency just to mention a few. To see my schedule at my main West Center location you can download this application below and select Mid City Massage as a favorite and it is so easy to request an appointment! I understand how the body should move when muscles are functioning properly, so when it is not moving properly I understand the mechanics to allow the body to function. I work with the client to make sure they understand what is going on and what might be contributing to their dysfunction. Together, we come up with a treatment plan and work together to make sure it happens. My specialties are Deep Tissue (Myofascial Release), Swedish, Prenatal, Cupping and Gua Sha Therapies.
